Imphal, November 17 2021:
Nungba Area Village Authority Association (NAVAA) has demanded for a full time SDO for Nungba sub-division and strongly denounced the negligence and step-motherly treatment meted out to hill areas, particularly Nungba sub-division by the N Biren Singh led Government.
In a press release issued today, NAVAA alleged that the SDO/BDO of Nungba had been transferred on October 15, following which, Stiff Khapudang, MCS, ADC Noney district was saddled with the charge of SDO Noney sub-division as well as SDO Nungba.
As a result, in the absence of a full time SDO/BDO the people of Nungba, particularly students have been facing immense obstacles in obtaining documents necessary for higher studies such as domicile certificate, income certificate, residence certificate, tribe certificate etc, the press release added.
The statement further went on to enumerate the lack of doctors, teachers and officers in the area and also expressed discontent with the Go to Hills and Go to Village missions deeming them as meaningless, hollow promises without any real effort.
NAVAA strongly asserted that drastic agitations would be launched if immediate steps are not taken by the State Government to post a full time SDO and also to fill up all vacant posts of doctors, nurses, teachers etc in the district.
