While denouncing alleged 'negligence and step-motherly treatment' by the state government to Nungba subdivision, Nungba Area Village Authority Association (NAVAA) on Thursday warned of intense agitation if a full-time SDO is not posted at the earliest.

However, the latter is unable to discharge his duty as SDO Nungba as he is tied to Noney district headquarters, the release noted.
Expressing strong resentment that people of Nungba are made to suffer due to absence of its SDO with students the hardest hit section of as they are unable to obtain necessary documents such as domicile certificate, resident certificate, tribe certificate, income certificate and so on, the vice chairman also highlighted lack of doctors, nurses and officers in the sub-division consequently posing as a stumbling block in progress and development of the district.
"The highly publicised Go To Hills and Go To Village mission of chief minister is meaningless and hollow promises without effort to strengthen the administration at the ground level or to provide at-least the basic necessities in the interior hill areas," he said.
The association reiterated that intense agitation would be launched if immediate steps are not taken by the state government to post a full time SDO for Nungba subdivision and also fill up vacant posts of doctors, nurses, teachers and requisite staffers in the district.
