Imphal, November 17 2021: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) launched a digital platform 'Sarkarna Taribra' with the objective to assess the actual ground report from the public about alleged propaganda machinations of the BJP government in violation of Article 166 of the Law of Business of the Indian Constitution.

AICC Manipur in-charge Bhak-ta Charan Das launched the digital platform at Rishang Keishing Conference Hall, Congress Bhawan here on Wednesday in the presence of MPCC president MLA N Loken, vice-president Kh Devbrata and other MPCC leaders.

Speaking at the event, Bhakta Charan informed that the platform is to collect report from the public about the various schemes initiated by the BJP government as their propaganda tool.

One can raise their issues with MPCC by calling the phone number associated with the digital platform.

He also charged the government of using various schemes and programmes such as 'CM da Haisi' as the propaganda tool of BJP.

An official YouTube channel of MPCC is also being launched and one can see activities taken up by Congress party at the block levels of all assembly constituencies of the state, he said.

During the last four and half years, the BJP government has been suppressing freedom of expression, persona] liberty and rights of media, intellectuals, social activists and the public.

The public have been unable to express anything freely, the AICC leader said.

Charging the BJP government of lacking transparency, he asked what actions have been taken up against officials involved in corruption so far.

On the contrary, the government is penalising good officers who' work for the public and the case of ASP Brinda is the testimony of the government's nature, he said.

He then dubbed the 'CM da Haisi' platform a joke while calling the BJP government an irresponsible government.

Bhakta Charan also accused the government of maintaining stoic silence on the matter of office of profit case involving 12 MLAs and called the BJP government a dictatorial regime.

Joining the media briefing, MPCC president MLA N Loken said that the digital platform has been launched to know if the government is actually implementing the various schemes it announced with true spirit by collecting ground reports from the public while Kh Devbrata said that Rule of Business Article 166 exists to collect grievances from the public through government machineries at the district, block and local level.

While contending that programmes like Go to Village, Go to Hills, Meeyamgi Numit and CM da Haisi are in violation of the Article 166 of Indian Constitution, Devbrata pointed out that there programmes will cease to exist when a new chief minister replaces the existing one.

Such programmes disrupt the existing activities of government machineries and offices such as issuance of residential certificates, ration cards among other normal procedures.

Congress as an opposition party will collect ground report from the public to understand if the government is actually addressing grievances brought up by the public through CM da Haisi, he said and affirmed that MPCC will keep the names and personal details of the complainants to its digital platform confidential.
