109 Bn CRPF conducts CAP at Mongsangei

Imphal, November 17 2021:
109 BN CRPF under the aegis of IG Manipur and Nagaland sector conducted a civic action programme (CAP) on Wednesday at Mongsangei, Imphal West during which 10 bicycles were distributed to school kids belonging to BPL family.
A release by the battalion deputy commandant Kiyam Rajiv Singh said the programme was held with an objective to extend a friendly and helping hand to poor students of Mongsangei.
The bicycles were distributed to the poor and needy students in the presence 109 Bn commandant Bal Krishna Ram, MKAL convenor AK Ibomcha, Sun Club Mongsangai president S Surender Singh, SWYC Club Monsangei president KH Hera Singh, SIYWO Mongsangei president S Amubi Singh, deputy commandants Kiyam Rajiv Singh and Parvindar Kaur, assistant commandant Alex L Khopom and officials and personnel of 109 Bn.
In his speech, commandant Bal Krishna Ram expressed his happiness in getting the opportunity to help the needy and poor students and affirmed that CRPF will continue to serve the people of Manipur by carrying such humanitarian activities.
He also noted that COVID-19 pandemic is not completely under control and urged the gathering to continue wearing protective mask, maintain social distancing and practice a good standard of hygiene, such as washing hands regularly and seeking medical advice by calling a doctor as per Covid-19 SOP.
The Commandant also said that it is need of the hour and our primary duty to take care of needy persons of society.
In past, 109 Bn CRPF has constructed a public convenience/toilet at Karong, Sen-apati, distributed sports items and student utility items to Thong Upper Primary School at Senapati and distributed sewing machine on August 11, 2021 to widows of Senapati, Solar Lanterns to villagers of Laii, Tadubi, Mao Karbng, Khabung Karong, Kathikho Karong.
On January 1, 2021, "Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive" was organised by the battalion at Mongsangei village and has carried many such civic action programme in last couple of years in Imphal West and Senapati districts, added the release.
