MLA Susindro assures tablets for 10K students

Imphal, February 07 2022: Acknowledging inconveniences faced by the students due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Khurai MLA L Susindro has assured of providing tablets along with 1GB data per day to 10,000 students of his constituency if he got elected.

BJP Khurai Mandal organised a felicitation function in honour of former Adhyaksha of Imphal East and Congress member Naoroibam Basanti, who joined the BJP after she was denied Congress ticket, along with her supporters at the MLA's Khurai Sajor Leikai residence on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Susindro highlighted his achievements during the current term including road projects among others and added that only about 10 per cent of roads had not been renovated in the constituency.

NFSA cards have been distributed to 90 per cent of beneficiaries while the plan for setting up a business exchange centre had to be deferred due to land issue, the MLA explained while asserting that the current term, he focused on construction and infrastructure development.

In the next term, priority would be on income generation activities, Susindro confided, adding that he will complete construction of the Chingkhei Ching eco-tourism park, market complex near Pong Lambi along with providing free tablets and mobile data for 10,000 students Chief Minister N Biren's wife N Hiyainu, who also attended the programme, said that Basanti is a good leader with a pure heart to serve the public.

Her decision to join BJP will increase the party's strength, she opined while assuring of helping her in realising her dream of serving the public.

She also hailed MLA Susindro as a young, energetic and committed politician, who has exceeded the performance of his predecessors in just five years.

Meanwhile, Basanti said that she joined Congress under the leadership of CM Biren while he was in Congress.

She got several proposals for joining BJP but remained loyal to Congress as she did not want to hop from one party to another.

However, her dream of contesting the election went in vain when Congress decided not to field candidate in Khurai constituency.

She also revealed that as her workers assured to support and back any decision she takes, she joined BJP as it is the only party that can bring development in Khurai AC better.

MLA Susindro's Central Election Management Committee president N Bihari, MLA's wife L Bembem and office bearers of BJP Khurai Mandal also attended the programme.
