Razai Khullen villagers seek CM's intervention

Ukhrul, July 01 2021: The villagers of Razai Khullen have appealed to the Chief Minister, N Biren Singh to intervene and start PMGSY road construction of the 8 km stretch that connects Razai Khullen with National Highway at the earliest for the welfare of the people.

Speaking to media persons, Razai Khullen secretary, Dearson Horam stated that despite repeatedly approaching the concern MSRRDA Department, contractor and even the local MLA, Khashim Vashum to start the PMGSY road construction of the road stretch from Razai Khunou-Khunou (8 Km), which connects to NH-102 before the onset of monsoon, without any visible result till date.

He mentioned that the villagers have set one week ultimatum to the contractor/Work agency to start the work, failing which they would boycott and launch intensive demonstration along with a legal proceeding against the contractor.

Dearson Horam further expressed his anguish over the silence of the local MLA over the issue even when the villagers are running around for the execution of PMGSY work.

The MLA doesn't understand the plight of the rural people even though he was from the same Raphei region, he alleged.

It may be mentioned that the work of blacktopping, widening, breast wall, retaining wall, pucca line drain and culverts were executed by Sub-contractor, Mingthing Horam while the work was awarded in the name of one, M Budhoujit Singh.

Razai Khullen village is about 75 km away from Ukhrul town and is located under Jessami Sub-division.
