"CM Widow Pension Scheme" to be launched today

Chief minister N Biren Singh has asserted that the objective of the government is to deliver good governance to the people at their doorsteps while stating that with the love and support of the people, the government has achieved milestone in terms of development and welfare of the people.
Speaking to media persons at his Secretariat office on Monday, CM Biren informed that the government will launch the 'Go to Village 2.0' in Thoubal district on Tuesday with a three day camp at Thoubal Moijing Public ground.
As done in earlier GTV camps, government officials would identify the eligible and deserving beneficiaries of various welfare schemes such as PMJAY, CMHT, CMST, old-age pension card, free gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, distribution of LED bulbs under Ujala scheme, etc., and would deliver various government services on the spot.
Transgender certificates will also be distributed during the programme, he added.
The CM continued that free vaccination camp will also be organised at the site of GTV.
Shumang Kumhei such as 'Keidoubagi Kidoino' produced by DIPR and "Ereipakkidamak" of Education Department will be showcased at every GTV camp, he added.
N Biren further said that all the valley districts of the state will be covered during the GTV 2.0 .
He also announced that 'CM Widow Pension Scheme' which aims to provide monetary support to widows will be launched on Tuesday.
A total of 10,000 widows will be benefited from the scheme, and a sum of Rs 500 will be provided to each beneficiary every month.
The chief minister also conveyed that the government is targeting to increase the number of beneficiaries under Manipur Old Age Pension scheme from existing number of 66,738 .
He further stated that the government will contribute Rs 200 as state share in the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme.
Now, a total of 6,000 beneficiaries will be getting a sum of Rs 500 per month under the scheme, he noted.
The CM also stated that under the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, the state government will contribute Rs 200 as state share from now on.
So, a total of 1030 beneficiaries will be getting Rs 500 per month under this scheme, which will be separate from Rs 1500 per month earlier provided by the state government, he said.
N Biren also stressed that the government is working to announce the results of IRB recruitment.
Every time he opens his Facebook page the comments are filled with requests for declaration of the results.
The results have been delayed as the interviews which need to be done physically could not be held due to Covid-19 pandemic.
But, very soon the final results will be declared, he assured.
N Biren further stated that as the pandemic has decreased preparations are on to resume the Go to Village, Go to Hills, Hill Leaders Meet and 'Miyamgi Numit' programmes of the government.
Education minister S Rajen Singh, CAF&PD minister Th Satyabrata, Manipur Pollution Control Board chairman L Radhakishore, Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Board chairman H Dingo, Kshetrigao MLA N Indrajit, secretary to CM Ningthoujam Geoffrey and others were present during the press conference.
