N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo : Tekcham PC, MPSC-B ease into quarters

Imphal, November 06 2022: Tekcham Polo Club and MPSC-B will meet each other in a quarter final match of the ongoing 36th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.

Tekcham Polo Club sealed their place in the quarter final with a 6-2 thrashing of CRPF Polo Team today as H Muhindro shone with a treble in the last two chukkers.

Tekcham PC started strongly and enjoyed a 3-0 first chukker lead with K Jogendro opening the account in the fourth minute and S Sadanananda scoring back to back in the 5th and the 6th minutes.

After settling the second chukker in a goalless draw, Tekcham PC raced to a 5-0 lead as H Muhindro added twice before adding the remaining goal in the final chukker which also saw M Ropen and O Samarjit scored a goal each for the CRPF team.

Later in the other pre-quarter final clash, MPSC-B upstaged Lamphel Polo Club 7-1 as O Suresh and H Abung scored two goals apiece.

Kh Nongpoknganba, T Pradeepkumr and M Devanath also contributed a goal each to help MPSC-B register the comfortable win as S Abung Khuman scored the only goal for Lamphel Polo Club.

X-Polo Club, Wangkhei will play K&MM Riding School-A in the first quarter final match tomorrow before Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club lock horns against Chingkheihunba Polo Club in the second quarter final match.
