SU, KIYC register wins in MSL

Imphal, October 22 2022: Sagolband United registered a dominant 2-0 victory against Yarkhok United FC (YUFC) as Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC) scraped past Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU FC) in the Manipur State League at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur on Saturday.

Sagolband United, who started the day against YUFC, took 32 minutes to break the opposition's defence for a 1-0 lead.

It was Pukhrambam Bebekananda who made his effort count to ensure his side gained the upper hand before the halftime whistle.

The second period proved harder for the Sagolband squad to make further inroads despite their relentless efforts up front.

Their efforts finally bore fruit when Haobijam Adison Singh (90+4) sprang into action in a goalmouth tussle to score the second goal in the dying seconds of stoppage time.

In the other match, Md Shabir Ali scored a last-gasp goal to help KIYC to a 1-0 win against TRAU FC.

Shabir netted the important goal in the third minute of injury time.
