Imphal, October 21 2023: YWC-L overwhelmed PCC-Mayaikoibi by 8 wickets for first Group A victory in three matches in the ongoing 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy.

Opting to bat first at Dhobi Lampak, PCC were bundled out for 71 runs in 24 overs and YWC-L eased to winning 72 within 13.4 overs.

Lucky topscored for PCC with 32 runs in his name as none of the other batters could post double digit runs.

Ziad of YWC-L ran riot on the way to his four wicket haul (4/12 in 5 overs) in this innings as Achouba (2/4) and Sushil (2/10) shared two wickets each.

Malemnganba and Athouba of YWC-L also shared a wicket each to restrict PCC at 71 .

In reply, YWC-L lost Ziad (12) and Kumar (2) before Thoungamba 22 and Achouba 20 finished off the chase.

Ajay and Pravin of PCC shared the two wickets in this innings.

Ziad of YWC-L was declared man of the match.

Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, RCA-Lilong posted their second Group A victory by piling up a massive 240 runs for 8 wickets and bowling out TRAU for just 67 runs in 24.4 overs.

After a sloppy start, RCA rode on Saad (46), Naesh (43), Alfash (40), Irshad (24 not out) and Imityas (13 not out) to rack up the huge total.

TRAU's Luching (2/38) and Preetson (2/41) claimed two wickets each in this innings as Swabhiman (1/36) and Shivestian (1/36) shared a wicket each.

TRAU faltered badly in the chase as Naesh ripped their batting line up apart and returned with the best figures of 5/6 in 5.4 overs.

Sawaz (2/12) and Soib (2/13) of RCA were also clinical in their bowling today.

Naesh Hussain who produced an allround performance was adjudged man of the match.

In a Group B match staged at Public Ground Khangabok Cherapur, YUCC-Kwakeithel Moiralpurel Leikai outclassed PTRC Patsoi Part IV by 84 runs courtesy N Thoiba's 56-ball 101 and a 6 wicket haul enjoyed by N Kennedy.

Electing to bat first, YUCC posted a total of 173 runs for all wickets down in 28.4 overs despite N Thoiba's century.

Robinson (4/33) and Jackson (3/27) were too good with their bowling in this innings as Ngambarel, Benson and Shivason managed a wicket apiece.

In the chase, PTRC were left in tatters with Kenedy (6/22) and Joychand (4/37) unstoppable with their bowling feats.

Robinson with an unbeaten 38 off 65 balls was the only double digit scorer for the Patsoi team as 5 other batters went out on ducks.

Kennedy who picked 6 wickets and added 21 runs was adjudged man of the match.

Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, TCMDC-Thongju chased down a target of 109 runs at the cost of 1 wicket against YPHUC-Lalambung Makhong for the second win in three matches.

YPHUC were all out for 108 runs in 31.4 overs as TCMDC's Thomson (4/20), Lohitson (2/18) and Prakash (2/15) put in a concerted bowling effort.

Amrendra (21), Sunny (16) and Abdur (10) were main run getters for YPHUC before Nganba (30 not out) and Thomson (45-ball 61 not out) steered TCMDC to victory.

Prince of YPHUC claimed a wicket in the form of Mathoi (8) of TCMDC.

Thomson who produced an allround performance in TCMDC's victory was adjudged man of the match.
