Imphal, March 01 2022: The All Manipur Powerlifting Association has announced the names of athletes who will be representing Manipur at the National Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship 2021-22 due to be held from March 9 to 13 at Alappuzha, Kerala.

As per a list of short-listed player released by the All Manipur Powerlifting Association, Yuhenba Longjam of PBBPTC (53 kg), Irikhomba Elangbam of PBBPTC (59 kg), Thiyam Boyson of PTCC (59 kg), Hanjabam Hritikraj Sharma of PBBPTC (66 kg), Anoubam Sushilkumar of PBBPTC (66 kg), Elangbam Deepakson of PBBPTC (74 kg), Kh Mahen Singh of PBBPTC (74 kg) and S Smakar of PBBPTC (105 kg) are among the sub-junior boys selected for the State team.

In the meantime, junior athletes named in the list include Paugingsang Khongsai of Churachandpur (59 kg), Elangbam Thoungamba of PBBPTC (66 kg) and Lalsiamding of Churachandpur (+120 kg) .

Md Hakim Shah of KYSA Club, Sangaiyumpham (66 kg) was the sole senior male athlete.

Male master athletes on the other hand include Laimayum Nilamani of PBBPTC (66 kg Master-1), Kirankumar Kangjam of PBBPTC (59 kg Master-2), RK Chandrakumar of Maisnam Nongthombam Leikai (66 kg Master-3) .

Sub-junior girls in the meantime include, Saikhom Mandakini of Sangaithel (47 kg), Kh Jennifer of PTCC (57 kg), B Nimi Chanu of PBBPTC (69 kg) and Silky Thangjam of PBBPTC (84 kg) while Elangbam Dillu Devi of PBBPTC (43 kg) was named in the junior list.

M Chanchan Devi of PTCC (57 kg) and Leimapokpam Linthoingambi Devi of PBBPTC (63 kg) have been named in the senior women's list.

Master female athletes who will be representing Manipur along with their respective categories are as follows.

Master-1 : Kh Radhamani Devi of PTCC (57 kg), Atom Somibala of PBBPTC (63 kg), Konthoujam Anita of PBBPTC (63 kg), M Ibemcha of UFLC, Lamboikhongnangkhong (69 kg ), M Anita Devi of SKYC, Sekmai (76 kg), M Bilasini of Nambol Chingmang (76 kg);
Master-2 : Th Romita of Kongba Kshetri Leikai (63 kg), Ng Tombi of KANTO (69 kg), Saikhom Thoibi of PBBPTC (76 kg), Tomchom Sanatombi of PBBPTC (84 kg), Kh Nalini Devi of Maisnam Nongthombam Leikai (84 kg);
Master-3 : Mutum Ibempishak of PTCC (47 kg), T Ibemhal of PBBPTC (57 kg), Angom Memchoubi of PBBPTC (76 kg), Lena Salam of PBBPTC (+84 kg) and
Master-4 : Soraisam Ibetombi of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Mamang Leikai (57 kg) and Th Subadani of PBBPTC (63 kg) .

The association further named Elangbam Inao as team manager for men, Waikhom Sanatombi Devi as team manager for women and Konsam Rosida as coach.

Selected lifters were also informed to report at the PBBPTC gym on March 4 by 8 am for final confirmation.

Further coaching will be held from March 5 at 8 am, it added.
