Vehicular movements at Barak bridge halted briefly

Imphal, September 21 2020: Vehicular movements at Barak Bridge along Imphal-Jiribam road were halted for a few hours as a portion of the bridge collapsed this morning.

As per information received by the press, vehicular movements resumed after the bridge was repaired by the officials of NHIDCL, police personnel and the local populace.

It may be mentioned that bridges along Imphal-Jiribam road, which is the lifeline of Manipur, break down frequently and transporter bodies and CSOs have urged the Government to look into the matter.
