Imphal, September 03 2015:
After the recent confirmation of two cases of Japanese Ence-phalitis, the State Health Dept is all set to conduct a survey to ascertain the presence of JE carrier mosquitoes in the State.
State Director of Health Dept, Dr O Ibomcha said that the survey will be initiated in all the districts of the State within this week.
The approximate population of Culex mosquito, the main carrier of JE, could be established after the survey, Dr Ibomcha said.
Necessary measures will be taken up after the assessment.
Fogging exercise has been carried out at two places where the presence of Culex mosquito is said to be confirmed in the State so far, he added.
