Mary Kom, Sarita donate for flood victims

Imphal, September 03 2015:
Komnao village, one month after being hit by flood, still has 31 families taking shelters under the roofs of relief camp and temporary sheds.
Sensing the hardships, Dynamic Manipur and Helping Hands, Manipur volunteers visited the village for distribution of relief materials.
These materials donated by MC Mary Kom and Sarita Laisharam include 3 kg rice, 1 kg potato, 1 kg dal, 1 kg salt, half litre mustard oil, one pack candle, mosquito coils etc.
Each family is also provided a Tata Wash Smart water filter (Silver nanotechnology filter) having 15 liters capacity.
These water filters are donated under the project "Potable Water Supply to Flood Victims through Pond Restoration and Filtration Units � Manipur Flood 2015" conducted by DM/H2M.The project is funded by generous associations and individuals from India and abroad.
Donor associations are Korea Manipuri Association (KMA) with support from Indians in Korea, Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC), San Francisco Bay Area Manipuri Community and North American Manipur Association (NAMA, coordinated by Flood Relief Manipur).
Several Manipuri Diaspora Individuals across the globe have donated over Rs.1 lakh to assist the flood relief efforts.
Komnao is a village having 87 households under Sekmaijin Zilla Parishad, Aarong Nongmaikhong Gram Panchayat, Thoubal District.
