Orgns continue to condemn

Various tribal organisations on Thursday continued to condemn the killing of eight persons and injuring many others by the security forces in the protest against the Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 .
In separate statements, All Tribal Chiefs' Forum, Manipur (ATCFM) General Secretary G Kabidon alleged that all the 60 MLAs were trying to outwit the hill people by stating that the Bills will not affect interests of the tribals.
ATCFM demanded that the State Government should redress the grievances of the hill people.
The forum recalled that Churachandpur and Sardar Hills stood up for the cause of the Manipur Hills .
Meanwhile, Tribal Youth Council, Manipur (TYCM) said t that the Bills were passed without taking the confidence of the hill people and without referring the same to the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) .
TYCM Secretary Lh Decemhring demanded the State Government to immediately revoke the ban imposed on the use of internet stating that it was against the fundamental rights provided by Constitution.
The council further demanded punishment to those security personnel involved in the killing of civilians in Churachandpur.
TYCM said the loss of lives and damaged caused to properties should be compensated and offered heartfelt condoles to the bereaved families members.
