MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei has appealed to all the teachers in Keirao AC to continue performing their duties sincerely for the betterment of the students.
Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei made the remark while speaking at a felicitation programme organised by Urup Young Civil Club and Urup Shining Star Club at the Urup High School which has been upgraded to Higher Secondary status by the Cabinet yesterday and added that taking a school to new height takes a collective responsibility of teachers, governing body, parents and guardian and people of the locality.
He appealed to the teachers and staff of Urup High School to perform their duty sincerely as they have the greatest role to play in shaping the future.
Urup High School was nominated for upgradation based on its suitable location as well as the number of enrolled students and some people have been trying to paint the whole process through a narrow communal prism, which is very unfortunate and the people should not believe such false accusations, he said.

Lourembam Rameshwor said he will take responsibility to mend the various requirements including infrastructure and staff and appealed to the staff including principal and the governing body to work together towards making Urup Higher Secondary School one of the best in Imphal area.
As brought up by the teachers, MLA Lourembam Rameshwor said he understands that the road connectivity in the AC is very poor and it has hampered the movement of students and staff alike.
He assured that all the roads in the AC will be metalled before the upcoming election.
Hitting out at the politicians and social workers for trying to divide the constituency in a communal manner, he appealed to all the social workers and politicians to veer away from communal politics.
He said people have a clear idea of how far the constituency has come from its previous condition and appealed to the public to vote accordingly.
MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei said it was also very unfortunate that some people of the AC have been involved in drug and substance abuse and appealed to the public to work towards making Keirao AC a drug free constituency.
