Senapati, October 15 2021: Sounding political bugle ahead of the upcoming Manipur Assembly Election, PHED Minister Losii Dikho has claimed that the Naga People's Front (NPF) should be credited for providing political stability in Manipur on many occasions without conditions.

The NPF leader said that the party will stand for Tribal rights with special focus on Border Trades, Tourism, Education, Sports & Youth Development and People's oriented projects.

Losii Dikho made the above statement during a Get-Together programme of village leaders and party workers of 48-Mao Assembly Constituency at Asufii, Mao.

The programme was attended by CSOs, village councils, women and youth organisations of 48-Mao AC.

The two time MLA from Mao AC who is seeking his third term mentioned that the NPF came to Manipur in 2011 and introduced the party in the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 2012 .

"The NPF as a political party wants to bring peace in the land, aspire peace to remain in the land and don't want any confrontation, violence or problem in the land.

With guidance from the central party, the Manipur State Unit of the NPF has stood tall with prayers everywhere", he said.

The Minister continued that the party has been blessed with the support of the people and CSOs of the hill districts.

Losii Dikho reiterated that the NPF during the last 2017 general election supported the BJP led State Government without any pre condition/demands for any Ministership or post.

The NPF party had trusted and provided the support to BJP like blank cheque and readily agreed to support the BJP.

"Different opposition members came and tempted them away from the present BJP led Government but the NPF party stood like rock in support of the BJP led Government till date", said the Minister while adding that the State BJP has failed to acknowledge the contributions of the NPF.

The Minister also extended his appreciation to the Prime Minister, who during his campaign in Imphal asserted that he would take away bandhs and blockades in Manipur within 15 months if BJP is elected majority in the State.

"Through tireless contribution from the NPF, the State could enjoy an improved law and order situation where peace prevailed as appealed by the PM.

Moreover, under the initiative of the PM, more than 50% work to connect tap water to all the households of the State has been completed by the PHE department", he asserted.

While assuring the people to take up pending issues related to the ongoing projects and developmental programmes in the region, the Minister called for improvement of connectivity in Indo-ASEAN border Trade through the new Mao-Moreh-Ukhrul roads.

Speaking to media persons, Losii Dikho mentioned that the programme was held to apprise the position of NPF in the State where the party is a partner to the BJP led Government which has brought peace and change in the State.

The NPF is always behind the BJP led Government to usher peace and tranquillity in the State and will continue to do so even in future, he added.

The NPF legislator expressed his anguish over the treatment of the NPF by the BJP led Government and slammed the BJP for not taking the issues of harassment & violence against minority Christians and other minority communities seriously especially in the mainland part of the Country.

NPF leader and former ADC Chairman, ML Markson lauded the 4 NPF MLAs who have stood for tribal rights even to the extent of resignation from their MLA seats.

He mentioned that the NPF has never compromised from their commitment and urged the people to continue supporting the party for the welfare of tribal people and re-elect NPF in the next election.

LM Tabitha, former president, Naga Women's Union said that the introduction of NPF in Manipur has strengthened the tribal issues of Manipur through democratic means which upholds the party motto, "By faith, not by arms" .
