As part of its ongoing Multi-Media Campaign, Manipur State AIDS Control Society has successfully organised three batches of one-day long training of volunteers on Inter-Personal Communication from February 1 to 3 at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak.
Hundred volunteers from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and coming from all the districts of Manipur participated in the training programme.
The objective of the training programme was to mobilise youth by instilling knowledge of Inter-Personal communication.
The trained volunteers in turn would conduct small group discussions in their respective localities to spread the message of HIV prevention.
Apart from imparting knowledge on Inter-Personal Communication, the volunteers were trained in the areas of Basics of HIV, vulnerability of youth regarding HIV and AIDS, testimonial sharing by Persons Living with HIV/AIDS, life skill, etc.
The opening ceremony was graced by N Saratchandra Singh, president of India AIDS Consortium, as guest of honour and Zonal Director of NYKS J Ruivah as president of the function.
The training programme was taken by imminent resource persons like State Leprosy Officer Dr Kh Pramodkumar; District AIDS Control Officer, Imphal East Dr M Birchandra Singh; Deputy Director of MACS Dr LR Kom; Consultant Youth of MACS H Pradeep Kumar Singh and UNDP SPO Kh Babita Devi.
The participants also got the chance of interacting with Kh Pradipkumar ( Mr Manipur and Brand Ambassador of MACS) during the training programme co-ordinated by H Pradeep Kumar.
