Training programme organised

International Competence for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA) organised a one-day training programme on Post Harvest Management of Kiwi' under Phase-III of Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Easter Region (MOVCDNER) at Purul Akutpa village in Senapati district on Monday.
Organised under the sponsorship of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), the training programme was attended by around 30 farmers.
Speaking as a resource person, KVK Senapati subject matter specialist (plant protection) Dr David Kamei explained about the benefits of Kiwi and how to cultivate it properly.
Kiwi is a fruit with high nutritional value and is one of the fruits having high demand in the market, he said.
ICCOA project in-charge Kaimang Lalngam Gangte stated that the fruit is in high demand in the international market and as such urged the farmers to work hard for production of the same in large quantity, which in turn will also help increase the income of farmers.
