Forum, Lup extend aid to village volunteers

Kakching, March 04 2024: CCIAN Forum Peace Committee and Chaokhat Khongthang Lup, Singjamei Chinga Makha on Monday extended monetary aid to village volunteers and locals of Thamnapokpi who have been facing intermittent attacks from Kuki militants.

Speaking at the monetary assistance handing over programme, president Laishram Ingocha informed that the CCIAN committee has been reaching out to village volunteers and families of victims of the ongoing conflict, since May 15.With no sign of the unrest ending or assurance from the government, the people should unite and collectively defend the vulnerable citizens from adversary elements, he stressed.

Ingocha also urged people of Manipur to extend aid to villagers in peripheral areas as their sources of livelihood have be seriously affected owing to threat and attacks by Kuki militants.
