Under its AR CAP programme, Assam Rifles of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) handed over three cultivators, seeds, saplings and manure to Aibol Joupi village.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the agricultural materials were distributed under a special project aimed at promoting organic farming and self-sustenance for the villagers of Aibol Joupi.
The handing-over ceremony was witnessed by approximately 100 villagers.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) conducted an interaction followed by distribution of essential materials for internally displaced persons staying in relief camps set up of Lingsiphai and Mata villages, Churachandpur district on February 10, benefitting about 64 individuals.
Assam Rifles also interacted with villagers of Komlakhong village in Imphal West district on February 10 and distributed stationery items to kids bringing smiles to innocent faces of the children, said the PRO in another release.
Stationery items were also distributed by the Indian Army at Khoripok relief camp, in Kangpokpi district on Monday under Operation Sadbhavana.
According to PRO Defence, chiefs of Khoripok, Sadar Joute, Janglenphai, Manamjang and other villages attended the event held at the relief camp.
The items distributed included notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essential writing materials to assist the children in continuing their basic education.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles provided humanitarian assistance to "Our Home" Orphanage in Tushar village, Ukhrul district by distributing clothes, shoes, stationeries, and rations to 26 children, including nine girls.
The village authorities expressed heartfelt gratitude toward the Assam Rifles in catering to the basic needs of the future generation and acknowledged the efforts of security forces in restoration of normalcy, it added.
