Tml gears up for Lui-Ngai-Ni Fest

Tamenglong, February 12 2024:
Preparations are on in full swing at Tamenglong District Headquarters as Nagas in Manipur gear up to celebrate Lui-Ngai-Ni on February 14 and February 15 under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC) .
The local organising committee of Lui-Ngai-Ni has appealed to all not to impose bandh on the days of the festival.
As usual, blowing of trumpets, cultural dances and folk songs will be the main features of the two-day event which will be celebrated under the theme of "Quintessential cultural resurgence" .
Nagas from various parts of Manipur will gather at Tamenglong for the seed sowing festival, which is usually marked by feasting and cultural bonanza.
This year's Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration will be graced by Awangbow Newmai, Minister for Water Resources, Relief and Disaster Management as the chief guest; Lok Sabha MP Dr Lorho Pfoze as the principal guest and MLA Ram Muivah and MLA L Dikho as guests of honour while Janghemlung Panmei, Tamenglong MLA will be the chief host.
Special guests of the occasion are MLA N Kaysii, MLA Leishiyo Keishing, MLA SS Olish and MLA Kumo Sha.
Delegates have started arriving from today in Tamenglong district headquarters for the event.
