N Manisana buried at Sangaithel

Ningthoujam Manisana of Sangaithel Maning Leikai, whose body was recovered on Sunday, has been buried at Sangaithel on Monday, with all necessary rituals in place.
After the chief minister assured to fulfil the demands of the JAC formed in connection with the death of Ningthoujam Manisana, the body was claimed by his family, JAC and the public from JNIMS morgue.
From there, the mortal remains were taken through Khurai Lamlong Keithel, Lamlong Thong, Khongnang Ani Karak, Thangmeiband, Lamphel Sanakeithel and in front of RIMS hospital, before moving towards Uripok Canteen road to Uripok Kangchup road, Naoremthong and Sagolband culminating at Sangaithel, where many offered floral tributes.
Students of Panam Paka-leima Public School, where Manisana's son is enrolled also paid respects to the deceased.
Manisana's body was then brought to his residence in Sangaithel Maning Leikai, where more people offered floral tributes, and finally taken to Sangaithel where he was interred.
Prior to the burial, the people in attendance observed a one-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Manisana left behind his wife, Albina and a six-year old son.
He had opened a chicken centre near his home to earn money for his family.
In this regard, JAC convenor L Bicol Meitei recounted that Manisana could no longer keep the chicken centre open after the conflict broke out on May 3 last year.
He left home to find work but was found brutally murdered by suspected Kuki militants atop Moirangpurel hill on Sunday.
While the post mortem examination was conducted at JNIMS morgue on Sunday, the JAC met the CM and put forth their demands which included ex-gratia for Manisana, a suitable government job for his wife and bringing an end to the prevailing violence at the earliest.
The CM assured to fulfil the demands and as such, Manisana's body was claimed on Monday for conduct of his last rites.
