No sign of respite from violence: Langsai Thouna

With the Kukis continuing to attack Meetei villages in different parts of the state using bombs and sophisticated weapons, there is no sign of immediate end to the ongoing violence, stated Langsai Thouna, Manipur.
According to Langsai Thouna, Meeteis displaced from Sugnu, Serou, Moreh and other parts of the state are currently taking shelter in different relief camps opened in Kakching while Langsai Thouna in coordination with people of Ka-kching have been guarding village at Kakching Lamkhai for the past nine months.
After the Kukis started blocking supply of essential items to state forces deployed in Moreh, Langsai Thouna launched counter blockade at Kakching Lamkhai by checking foods and essential items meant for the Kukis, it conveyed.
In a statement, Langsai Thouna convener Rajiv Kshetrimayum said that the Lok Sabha election likely to be held in March or April this year is antithesis to the prevailing situation in Manipur while declaring that Langsai Thouna will not endorse election campaigning as it might worsen the situation.
