Phairen Panchami rituals on Feb 14: KIPC

As conducted every year, the annual rituals of Phairen Panchami will be held at Kekru Gwarok hill by offering prayers to Nongpok Tarang Saraba (Chingu Nongpok Panganba) on February 14, according to Kekru Ideal Progressive Committee (KIPC).
In a statement, KIPC informed that the ritual is held every year since time immemorial with the deity installed believed to have granted wishes to those who pray with true heart.
The development works taken up at the shrine and its surrounding are carried out through donations and offering from people, and KIPC in association with clubs and organisations of the area oversee the annual ritual, the statement said, while appealing to all to visit the shrine on the day of the annual ritual.
The statement further informed that a new executive committee was formed in an annual general body meeting held on February 4 with Konjengbam Mani, Maibam Sellung and Thangjam Nokul respectively elected as the new president, vice-president and secretary among other executive members.
