Imphal, January 12 2024:
Manipur State Cooperative Bank Employees' Association (MSCBEA) has condemned the attempt to kidnap the Bank's Yairipok Branch staff Khundongbam Borish of Wangkhem Makha Leikai by some persons on January 9 .
In a release, MSCBEA general secretary i/c Huirem Shantikumar Singh informed that four unidentified miscreants in a Chevrolet car followed Borish while he was returning home from the bank and tried to abduct him by stopping him on the pretext of asking some questions.
He stated that the bank has been extending loans to the people to ensure development amidst the unrest situation in the state.
MSCB loan is given to all those who fulfill the criteria and the bank is ever ready to address queries and grievances.
However, targeting staff of the bank will lead to a situation where the bank might not be able to function properly out of fear, the secretary said.
Shantikumar further appealed to all concerned not to incite fear among the bankers in future.
