Meetei woman sexually assaulted by Kuki men on May 3

Imphal, August 09 2023: A Meetei woman has filed a police report, informing that she had been sexually assaulted by 4-5 Kuki men when the ethnic violence broke out in Churachandpur on May 3.According to the report, on the night of May 3, after Kuki mobs started burning the houses in her locality, she ran out to save herself but came across 4-5 Kuki men on the road.

The men brutally thrashed and then gang-raped her.

When she regained consciousness, she found that she had been saved and being protected by others from the Meetei community.

Based on the report, Women PS registered a zero FIR on Wednesday and necessary medical examination of the complainant conducted at the Department of Forensic Medicine and Technology, RIMS.
