Imphal, October 29 2026: 5 CSOs continued their stir reminding the Government of its charter of demands at Lamphel Supermarket today.

The 5 CSOs comprise All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM), All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Committee on Human Rights (COHR) and Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) .

The organisations have been demanding the Government to save Manipur's integrity, update NRC based on 1951 as base-year, allow return and rehabilitation of IDPs, resolve the Manipur conflict, remove AFSPA, and scrap recently concluded Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

During the sit-in demonstration, AMAWOVA president Wangkhem Ibemma said that the Government must at the earliest bring about a policy and resolution to the Manipur crisis and facilitate peaceful coexistence of communities.

She asserted that the Government of India must not implement any policies that would divide the communities and undermine the State's integrity.

While the Governments must take strong measures to restore peace and allow IDPs to return to their original villages and homes, the Central security forces must take prompt actions to protect civilians from militant attacks, she said.

The Central security forces which fail to protect civilian lives must leave Manipur, she added.
