Imphal, October 29 2026:
Demanding resignation of the government for failing to save lives, return of IDPs and unity of hills and valley, CPI Imphal East District and All Manipur Nupi Marup staged a joint protest today.
After holding a public meeting at Khurai Sajor Leikai, the protesters took out a rally till Lamlong Keithel.
Speaking on the sideline, CPI State Council member RK Amusana said the people have no reason to trust the present BJP Government in the State.
The Government has failed to protect the people and people have been suffering immensely for the past four years, he added.
It is time people teach a lesson to such a Government that is a burden to the public, he said, adding that if the Government knows it cannot protect the State for the welfare of people, it should resign on moral ground.
The rallyists shouted slogans and displayed placards reading "Long five people unity", "Stop the policy of keeping issues alive" and others demanding that Manipur cannot be divided.
