Imphal, October 29 2026:
The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation has urged all Naga civil society organisations to endorse and participate in the October 31 Peace Rally being organised by COCOMI in Imphal.
In a statement calling for Naga participation in the proposed rally, the MNYO asserted that the Government of India and the Government of Manipur have failed to restore peace and protect civilian lives from militant aggression in Manipur.
The MNYO questioned the silence of the Government of India and the State Government of Manipur over external aggression in Manipur.
The Governments have remained silent without a response over matters of external aggression and the role of the Assam Rifles in Manipur without launching even an investigation, it said.
While India has reacted strongly to external aggression in Jammu and Kashmir, it has ignored continued external aggression in Manipur which has claimed the lives of innocent Naga civilians, said the MNYO .
The death toll of Naga civilians in the conflict in Manipur has already reached 32 without the Government even ensuring ex-gratia and other means of subsistence to their next of kin.
While SoO and non-SoO militant cadres have given rise to crimes and conflicts, Myanmar-based militant groups including the KNA-B have infiltrated from across the border and attacked Indian Naga villages in the border area, it said.
Meanwhile, the occupation of the erstwhile "Sinai Camp" of the Kuki SoO cadres by CRPF Cobra recently has revealed violation of the SoO agreement.
While 17 unregistered militants were found residing illegitimately at the camp, the security forces also found out that 159 SoO cadres were missing from the camp.
This stark violation of the tripartite SoO agreement warrants the Government to abrogate it, said the MNYO .
The MNYO further alleged that the NIA, in a "partisan" manner, has launched a manhunt against Sharkaphung village headman Wungreikhan Kasar while it has failed to act against persons led by "Leilon Vaiphei chief" who were involved in the abduction and killing of six Naga civilians.
It also alleged that the Chief Minister's repeated proclamation about peace being restored to Manipur is a hollow claim.
