Imphal, August 09 2023:
Irabot Memorial Trust, Keibi has strongly condemned the murder of three innocent Meetei people at Kwakta Ward No 8, Bishnupur district in the wee hours of August 5 by Kuki militants and shared the pain of the bereaved families.
In a release, Irabot Memorial Trust informed that members of the Trust observed two minute silence to pay respect to the departed souls during a condolence meeting held at its office.
The Trust expressed disappointment over the failure of the State and Central Government to end the conflict in Manipur even after three months since it began on May 3 last.
The Trust also alleged that the Central Forces have done nothing to deter the Kuki militants who have continued to attack innocent civilians at foothill areas and periphery of valley districts.
The Trust appealed to the Government to take necessary measures to maintain law & order in both the hills and the valley to prevent further violence.
Besides, Irabot Memorial Trust also took two resolutions- firstly, all members of the Trust will support/ take part in movements to protect Manipur; and secondly, due to the ongoing construction work at Manaching, the Trust will not give permission for organising any event this year.
