JNIMS students protest attack

Students of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) staged a sit-in-protest on Thursday against the act of opening fire by unidentified miscreants towards the residential complex of institute's director professor Laishram Deben at Kakwa Ashem Leikai on November 6.Protestors held placards inscribed with slogans like 'Stop violence against doctors', 'Stop gun culture against doctors.
'Here to serve not to suffer' and 'Threatening doctors is killing yourself' during the protest organised by JNIMS Students' Association.
Association general secretary Sachin told media persons on the sidelines of the protest held in front of JNIMS A-Block that director Laishram Deben has been serving people of the state in medical sector and he has been conducting medical camps for inmates of relief camps at different places of the state since the outbreak of the ongoing violence.
Apart from this, professor Deben has been providing opportunity to inmates of relief camps who cleared NEET exam to study at JNIMS free of cost, Sachin pointed out,, while adding that the association strongly condemns firing at professor Deben's residence and demanded whosoever responsible to clarify.
On the other hand, Relief Committee JNIMS also strongly condemned firing attack at the residence of JNIMS director professor Deben's residence on November 6 evening.
