PM Modi's wish-list reminded at Yuwa Utsav

District Level Yuva Utsav; India @2047 was conducted at Mount Everest College, here with various competitive events organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Senapati and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Mount Everest College, Senapati.
In her keynote address, W Paulina Monsarig, deputy director NYK Senapati, stated that as India prepares to celebrate 100 years of independence, the country looks to follow the five principles listed by the Prime Minister on August 15, 2022 at Red Fort.
The five principles include the goal of developed India, removing any colonial mindset, taking pride in our roots, unity, and a sense of duty among citizens.
Taking inspiration from the Prime Minister's 5 principles, NYKS across the country plans to conduct mega programmes in 2023-24 .
This programme aims to reignite the spirit of patriotism and the values of India s freedom movement by involving the youth in various events, progressing from the district, state and to the national level, Paulina added.
According to additional deputy commissioner (Senapati) PP Ronald, the central and state governments are putting every effort to encourage young people not just in their education but also in sports and other extra-curricular activities.
The government wants the youth to know the rich culture and traditions, the ethos of the country, to remember the freedom fighters, and to propagate and practise the sense of patriotism among the citizens through such events.
He continued the theme of Yuva Utsav is intended to foster unity and understanding, cooperation and unity among all people of India, particularly youth and students.
The ADC/ADM of a Christian-dominated district, exhorted everyone to follow and obey what God has commanded.
Ronald further exhorted people to practise what they preach, to walk the walk wherever they go, and to be the light of the world, lire Senapati ADC/ADM also recommended the young students to read a portion the Bible in order to be enlightened in their life.
Painting competitions, poem writing competitions, photography competitions, declamation contest on "To work tirelessly for the dream of a developed India" and cultural competitions were among the competitive events held on the day.
College students from Mount Everest College, Mt Zion College, St Xavier College and Lungnila Elizabeth College took part in the various competitions during the day.
Dr Holkhongam Haokip, HOD & assistant professor of Department of History, Mount Everest College, spoke on "To take pride in our glorious Heritage" .
Niomchung Jatak Chiru, Asst Prof Dept of Physics, Mount Everest College, proposed the vote of thanks, thanking the NYK, Senapati, which is part of the Ministry of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs, and Sports, for the initiative to uplift the region's youth and students.
