Imphal, December 23 2023:
The Thadou Students' Asso-ciation (TSA) has appealed to both Kukis and Meeteis to shun violence and march forward on the path of progress and development.
In a statement issued by its secretary Lun Singson, TSA said that they are extremely perturbed by recent incidents of mob violence and gunfights amongst civilians in Manipur.
Condemning all forms of violence, TSA asserted that whoever stoking the violence in Manipur are anti-Nationals.
It also said that the protracted violence has brought shame to the State and the Nation at large.
Manipur has been contributing immensely to the Nation in the fields of games and sports, education and academics, medical sciences etc, TSA reminded while reiterating its appeal to shun violence and take the path of progress.
Maintaining that the State has lost many precious lives in the course of violence spanning over seven months, TSA prayed for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace.
The student association further said that they haven't lost hope in peace despite losing its office in Imphal, closure of its secretariat complex at Taloulong village in Sadar Hills, Kang- pokpi and arson committed at the residence of its president at Peniel village in Churachandpur.
"May God heal our land and beloved State, Manipur," TSA prayed.
TSA, meanwhile, extended Christmas and New Year greetings to all the people.
