KCC, UCC, WYC win big as FORCE beat YAC in MNCA T-20 Trophy

KCC, UCC, WYC recorded comprehensive victories as FORCE beat YAC by 11 runs in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 on Saturday.
KCC thrashed THAU by 144 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Rohen Singh smashed 64 off 42 balls to help KCC set up a competitive target of 194/8 after they opted to bat first.
The other batters who contributed to their total were Keisham Basantakumar (37), Thokchom Momocha (17), Nongmaithem Dijaraj (13), Nameirakpam Arbin (12), Hijam Boba (12) and Yumnam Sheiteendra (10) .
The Kongba Bazar squad then followed it up with a terrific bowling performance to skittle out THAU for a meagre 50 in 13.2 overs for their emphatic win.
Khundrakpam Aden (14) and Nepolian Takhellambam (10) were the only batters who got into double digits in THAU's dismal run chase.
In KCC's astonishing bowling attack, Singthoi Singh Nandeibam was the standout bowler with figures of W-5, R-9, O-4.Yumnam Sheiteendra did his bit with 2 scalps while Tayenjam Tomba, Wahengbam Somorjit and Nameirakpam Arbin each took one wicket.
UCC inflicted a crushing 110-run defeat on KIYC at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Electing to bat, UCC dished out a fine batting display to post 209/2, thanks to their duo of Thangjam Anson and Haobam Ajitkumar.
Anson ran riot with a blistering 120 not out off 61 balls while Ajitkumar hit an unbeaten 68 off 54 balls, with T Amarjit contributing 4 .
In the process, UCC lost 2 wickets to Mohammad Abdulla Khan.
Chasing a challenging total, KIYC wilted under pressure and ended up managing just 99/8.UCC's disciplined bowling attack saw Jenish Pukhrambam claim 3 scalps as Thokchom Yoihenba, Laishram Bhuson, Konsam Gulson, Diamond Moirangthem and Leishangthem Bishorjit got one each.
For KIYC, Geetchandra Moirangthem scored 38 while Md Tamijur made 13 not out.
WYC, meanwhile, beat SDC by 64 runs at Oriental College Ground.
WYC opted to bat first and scored 149/5 with contributions from Huirongbam Biteshwor (48 not out), Wanghkhem Laksmon (35 not out), Laishram Rajesh (13) and Borish Khomdram (11).WYC then successfully defended their total courtesy of Huirongbam Biteshwor, who scalped 4 wickets, and Borish Khomdram and Ruhit Nongmaithem who both claimed 2 wickets.
At Moijing Public Ground (Thoubal), FORCE grounded out an 11-run success against YAC.
Electing to bat, FORCE struggled to make big runs and managed 106/10 in the allotted 20 overs.
Their innings saw Fajirul Haque (26), Md Kabir Ahmed (18) and Sarfaraz (15) score in double figures.
Despite their below-par total, FORCE managed to fend off their opponents by forcing them to 95/9 for their 11-run triumph.
Tashib Alam led the attack with a haul of 3 wickets while Mutum Shushil and Naeem Ahamad snapped 2 wickets each, with Saddam Ahmed Shah and Fajirul Haque chipping in with one wicket each.
