Catholic Churches extend aid to conflict survivors

Catholic Churches of five villages located in Keirao Assembly Constituency under the aegis of Parish Priest Holy Redeemer Parish, Canchipur and supervision of local MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, on Saturday distributed relief materials to the conflict survivors taking shelter at the relief camp set up in Minority OBC Girls Hostel, Urup.
Representatives of Christ The King Catholic Church, Sandang Senba Maring Khul; St Thomas Catholic Church, Laipharok Maring village; St Peter's Church, Phunal Khunjao; St Michael Catholic Church, Phunal Khunou and St George Catholic Church, Taoramphai led by Rev Fr Kholi Emmanual, Parish Priest, Holy Redeemer Parish, Canchipur & Principal, Catholic School Canchipur visited the relief camp and provided the humanitarian assistance in view of the upcoming Christmas festival.

Local MLA & PDA Chairman Lourembam Rameshwor and Sadar Hills ADC Kangpokpi, former ADC Member Dr M Dominic Maring also took part in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev Fr Kholi Emmanual shared that the people of Manipur have been suffering due to the conflict which has been going on for more than 7 months in the State.
He said that prolonged conflict has led to irreparable loss of many precious lives & properties, left thousands of people displaced forcing them to take shelter at relief camps.
He asserted that the humanitarian aid was extended to the conflict survivors taking refuge at the relief camp to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
Rev Fr Kholi Emmanual further prayed that the upcoming Christmas festival and New Year 2024 bring peace, harmony & prosperity in the State.
Lourembam Rameshwor appreciated the Principal of Catholic School Canchipur and the five Catholic Churches for their show of love & concern during this difficult time.
He also expressed hope that all the people of Manipur will come together to restore peace & normalcy in Manipur.
