AR units organise various events

As part of three-day long "Azadi Ka, Amrit Mahotsav: Desh Ki Hifazat - Desh Ki Suraksha" celebration, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (East) organised wreath laying at Unit Memorial, Tamenglong.
In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that District Veteran Association secretary led the veterans in paying homage to brave-hearts.
Later a Veterans Milan programme was also organised by the Battalion.
On the side-lines of the celebration, an immunisation drive in Kotlen area of Kangpoki district was undertaken in collaboration with PHC, T Waichong.
The drive was conducted by 44 Assam Rifles along with PHC MO in-charge Dr Mohammed Arif Khan.
Children under the five years of age were administered BCG, DPT, hepatitis B and oral polio vaccine.
TT vaccine was also administered to pregnant women.
The medical staff also briefed the locals about benefits of full immunisation as it gives a child the best chance for healthy life and preventing diseases before it occurs thus saving money, energy and lives.
On the other-hand, Mantripukhri Battalion of Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) organised a brass and pipe band display in front of the iconic Kangla Fort as part of the events to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the band played patriotic tunes to fill the hearts of the audience with strong sense of patriotism among the audience and to remember the valour, courage and sacrifice of the fallen soldiers.
The event was organised near the Main Gate of historic Kangla Fort.
The event was witnessed by the local people present at the Kangla Fort Gate who were left spellbound by the vibrant and melodious performance of the band.
