Ishok hoists black flag to join Black Day observance

In remembrance of the merger of Manipur into the Indian Union after Maharaja Bodhchandra was coerced to sign on the Merger Agreement with the Union of India in Shillong, Youth's Progressive Club (YPC) along with Chengei Phougei Lup Ishok Makha organised Black Day observance in Ishok on Sunday.
Along with hoisting black flag on the occasion, the observance was marked by offering of floral tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur from the hands of the Kuki narco-terrorists and also prayed to the almighty for their souls to rest in peace.
Speaking on the occasion, Phougei Chengei Lup Ishok Makha secretary Huidrom Dhanapati informed that the function was organised as part of the observance of Black Day which will be held from September 3 to 21 across the state.
She also appealed to both the state and the union governments to wake up and save Manipur from disintegration.
