Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal, today began its "Winter Relief Services" with the distribution of thick blankets at the relief camp set up for the internally displaced people at Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO), Charoibung, Mayang Imphal, Imphal West.

In a release, Ramakrishna Mission stated that with the falling night temperature, the inmates of the camp were suffering from cold and requested for the thicker blankets.
Overall 120 blankets were provided for the inmates along with infant milk, dry food ration, toiletries, etc.
Ramakrishna Mission has also been regularly providing stationery and nutritious food supplements to support the students staying in the camps.
Earlier, during the first phase of relief from May 10 to July 20, more than 5000 thin blankets along with other relief items, consisting of dry ration, bedding & clothing, toiletries, utensils, food supplements for infants & mothers, etc worth more than Rs 70 Lakh were provided to over 120 relief camps, sheltering more than 18,000 affected people, from 5700 families, in 5 districts namely Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal.
In the second phase of its relief service, Ramakrishna Mission will be distributing 10,000 blankets to the inmates of the relief camps.
Ramakrishna Mission also assured that efforts are being made to serve the afflicted in all possible ways, especially, the children and nursing/expectant mothers, and to provide educational & nutritional support to the displaced students.
Moreover, to help the Meitei people staying in the Kwatha area, Writers of Manipur has handed over relief materials to the members of Langsai Thouna, Kakching.
The relief materials included rice and other essential food items contributed by Writers of Manipur, Arapti Youth & Student Development Club, Nepra Menjor Mamang Leikai Meira Paibi, Kongba Haobijam Khongnang Makhong Women Welfare Association Meira Paibi and Khongnang Pheidekpi Apunba Meira Paibi.
Writers of Manipur aalso extended its appreciation to Tengnoupal SP, Pallel OC, 2nd OC, Langsai Thouba and Meira Paibis of Kakching Lamkhai for their support in making sure the relief materials reached Kwatha.
