Imphal, September 03 2023:
Remarking that the.
chief minister, who is like the parent of the state, is seeing the various bodies disunited because he is watching from the back; Khwairamband Keithel Lukmai Sellup (KKLS) said that there will not be a single person or body/organ isation who/which would not stand in line, if he (CM) were to bravely come forward and lead in accordance with the sentiments of the people.
Addressing a press meet held at Manipur Press Club on Sunday, KKLS general secretary Asem Nirmala said that amid the cries of the people to resolve the four-month long violence in the state, the CM commented that he is confused who to talk to owing to presence of many CSOs, which is highly unfortunate.
She also commented on former Rajya Sabha MP MC Mary Kom's appeal to the union home minister to save the Kom community as they are not involved in the violence is unreasonable.
Nirmala continued that the involvement of Kom villagers in the attack at Phubala Maning and Naransena Maning 4-5 days ago is a fact.
In this, it is unbecoming of a community leader to work against the unity of indigenous community so as to save themselves.
In addition, the session of the Assembly was a mockery of the people's sentiments.
It is questionable whether the Assembly would have been suspended if the agenda concerning the people was discussed, she Wondered.
She then informed that KKLS will extend full support to the Black September observance from September 3 to 21 in connection with the merger agreement, while stressing the need for the central government to review the merger agreement if peace is to be restored in the state.
