Imphal, August 30 2023:
Asserting that the assembly session held on Tuesday was a mockery to the people of the state, Manipur Muslim Welfare Association (MMWO) has demanded convening of a 5-day session to discuss exclusively on the prevailing situation in the state failing which intense agitation would be launched and the MLAs held responsible for any untoward incident arising out of it.
In a press communique, MMWO president Boboi Korimayum said that the state assembly session which lasted for a few minutes did not dare to take any decision regarding the prevailing crisis in the state.
He claimed that the opposition party created a mayhem in the assembly and the government is blaming the opposition party as they apprehend public revolt against them.
He also pointed out that unlike earlier assembly sessions, there was no live coverage of the sitting.
This proved that the assembly session convened on Tuesday was not for discussing issues related to the welfare of the people, but to uphold interest and position of ministers and MLAs.
