Makaam Foundation, Rongmei bodies remember Haipou Jadonang

Makaam Foundation observed the 92nd Martyrdom Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang in a befitting manner with people from different parts of the country participating via Webinar.
The observance started with a 2-minute silence and floral tribute to the Jadonang who sacrificed his life at the altar of freedom.
The key note address on the life and vision of Haipou Jadonang was presented by former president Akham Gonmei while Foundation chairperson Mathiupuang Gonmei delivered the concluding remark.
Recently, Makaam Foundation undertook a special visit to institutions in Delhi connected with Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu.
The team visited Shaheed Jadonang Chhatravas (Hostel for boys) at Narela, Delhi and had interaction with students which include some boys from Peren district, Nagaland.
The manager of the hostel Dhani Ram welcomed the team and shared the long association of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram with freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
The team also visited Bharatiya Adimjati Sevak Sangh, New Delhi and interacted with its president NC Hembram and presented the framed photographs of Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu so that they can preserve the same in the Tribal Museum of the institution.
The Makaam Foundation team also had a brief photo session at the premises of Hotel Ashok, New Delhi in remembrance of the Goodwill Tour of Tribal Leaders of North East sponsored by the Government of India who stayed at the hotel for many days in March, 1969.Meanwhile, Rongmei Phwam Delhi/Rongmei Council Delhi & NCR (RPD), in collaboration with the Rongmei Chamnac Phwam Delhi/Rongmei Students' Organisation Delhi (RCPD) commemorated the 92nd Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang's Martyrdom Day through a virtual event conducted via Zoom meeting on Tuesday.
In a separate release, RPD general secretary Huaineiguang Rwangmei and RCPD president Peichun Gangmei conveyed that a significant moment during the event was the observance of a minute of silence as a profound tribute to Haipou Jadonang's sacrifice and contributions.
The observance was moderated by RPD chairman Levi Thaimei while advisor Kadimna Gangmei was the resource person.
The event also featured an interactive session, facilitating the participants to engage in a meaningful dialogue with the resource person.
