Cleanliness stressed to prevent vector borne diseases

Expressing concern over spread of vector borne diseases, District Malaria Office, Thoubal malaria technical supervisor Th Romen has advised the people to keep surrounding clean and prevent from mosquito bites.
As a part of measures taken up to prevent vector borne diseases, Kekru Yairi Club Yairipok (KYCY) and Kekru Yairi Women Development Organisation under the supervision of District Vector Borne Disease Control Society, Thoubal chemically treated mosquito nets of 300 households of Kekru village.
Speaking at the programme, Th Romen expressed hope that the programme will help prevent vector borne diseases such as dengue and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and reiterated his appeal to the locals to maintained cleanliness of the surrounding, including prompt clearance of stagnant water to prevent laying of mosquito eggs.
The programme was attended by District Malaria Office Thoubal, Primary Health Sub-Centre Kekru staffers and representatives of ASHA, club, meira paibi and organisations.
