Imphal, August 30 2023:
In a very clear and loud message, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has said that they will hold dialogues with Kuki representatives only after Kukis stop the onslaught and apologise to the people and the Committee.
Speaking to the media at its office at Lamphelpat today, COCOMI coordinator Jeetendra Ningomba said that they haven't taken up any initiative to hold a dialogue with Kukis as of now as advised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a recent meeting at New Delhi.
Notably, a 13-member of the Committee met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at New Delhi recently on the invitation of the Central leader.

Reiterating that they will enter into a talk with Kukis after consulting with the people only after they (the Kukis) apologise to the people and stop their aggression, he said that talk, however, is elusive for now given the situation.
On implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC), Jeetendra said that Amit Shah highlighted the problems of illegal influx of immigrants in the entire country and the plan of the Centre to update NRC throughout the country very soon during the meeting.
Saying that they also apprised the Union Home Minister about the situation in Manipur and the aspirations of the people, Jeetendra maintained that the main point submitted to the Union Home Minister was to keep the territorial and administrative integrity of Manipur intact.
He went on to state that COCOMI placed eight demands viz to control the Kuki narco-terrorists, abrogate Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact, replace Assam Rifles with other Central forces, expedite the rehabilitation and resettlement works of the displaced folks, ensure safe movement along National Highways, withdraw Central security forces from educational institutions and residential places and relocate them elsewhere, implement National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur and destroy poppy plantations in hill districts before harvesting and to take up certain initiative to abolish the culture of poppy plantations from the soil of Manipur to Amit Shah during the meeting.
Saying that Amit Shah asked the COCOMI delegates to hold a dialogue with Kuki leaders to break the cycle of violence and restore peace in the State, Jeetendra said that COCOMI didn't give any response to the Union Home Minister on that particular matter as Kuki militants haven't stopped attacking civilians.
To a query, COCOMI media coordinator Somorendro Thokchom said that the Committee had already asked all relevant authorities to relocate the Army bunkers set up at Phougakchao Ikhai beyond Torbung areas as most of the bunkers are in Meitei areas.
He said that COCOMI will launch a strong agitation if the bunkers are not relocated.
Somorendro went on to state that COCOMI had apprised the issue of bunkers to the Chief Secretary, Security Advisor to the Government, Bishnupur SP, Churachandpur SP and CO of Kumaon Regiment in the presence of locals of Phougakchao Ikhai, Torbung, Moirang yesterday.
The CO of Kumaon Regiment responded that the bunkers were set up as the area was very sensitive and it seems like the Central force doesn't want to relocate the bunkers, he added.
Asserting that COCOMI will proceed towards the area and dismantle the bunkers as announced if the Government fails to give a positive response, Somorendro urged the Government to understand the sentiments of the people and do the needful at the earliest.
He, on the other hand, said that yesterday's Assembly session failing to hold discussion on the situation in Manipur was very unfortunate.
COCOMI hasn't lifted its boycott of the Government, he added.
