BT University holds first convocation ceremony

The Bir Tikendrajit University (BTU) held its first annual convocation ceremony at the Maharaja Gambhir Singh Memorial Hall of the university on Tuesday.
The ceremony was marked by an academic procession with Dr Wahengbam leading as the protocol officer and presiding over the event.
In his address as chief guest of the convocation, BTU chancellor professor BN Mishra congratulated the graduating students and encour aged them to utilise their education for betterment of the society.
He emphasised the pivotal role of education in human development and identity formation, particularly in an ever-changing world.
The event was also attended former chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission lieutenant general L Nishikanta (retired), DM University vice-chancellor professor N Rajmuhon, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute & Research Centre director & CEO Dr GS Moirangthem, Churachandpur Medical College director Dr S Iboyaima, and BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary P Premananda as guests of honour.
Anuj Goel, chairman of the sponsoring body, along with members Pradeep Aggarwal and Abhay Raj Aggarwal, and Bir Tikendrajit University group director Dr JP Sharma were also present on the occasion.
The delegates shared their life experiences and congratulated the graduates on their remarkable achievements.
Many of them highlighted the significance of privatisation in the education sector in fulfilling society's aspirations.
The proceedings continued with the presentation of the University 's annual report by BTU vice-chancellor Professor AK Choudhary, showcasing the university's remarkable achievements in recent years.
As a part of the ceremony, the protocol officer administered the graduation oath to the students, underscoring their commitment to ethical and responsible practices in their future endeavours.
Degree certificates were also presented to the graduating students.
Out of 91 students who graduated, 79 received their degrees in person.
