Kangpokpi DC reviews projects/schemes with DLOs

Kangpokpi, February 16 2023: Kangpokpi deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuringla on Thursday met the district level officers (DLOs) at the conference hall of the DC Office Complex, here and held discussion on various agendas, including undergoing projects, issues and challenges faced by the departments.

The DC informed the officers that the District Hill Leaders' Day and Meeyamgi Numit will be held on February 24 at T Waichong sub-division.

Stating that attendance of the departments is good, she informed all the departments to ensure that all possible facilities are availed of by the villagers on the day.

While discussing about destruction of poppy cultivation in the district, superintendent of police Th Vikramjit Singh informed that the police team is still continuing the poppy destruction drive and appealed to the various department officers to participate in the drive along with their staff as the district police is facing shortage of manpower.

He said that coordination with the forest department is indeed a morale booster and expressed confidence that participation of various departments will make the campaign most effective.

Vikramjit also informed that the district police have stepped up highway patrolling along with conducting night patrolling to ensure that law and order situation is under control.

Apart from this, the police are carrying out their normal duties and recently on two occasion police arrested drug traffickers along with contraband drugs.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) N Ganesh said that forest department has been conducting survey even by using drones, adding that poppy cultivation in the district is very extensive and the department had started the destruction of poppy cultivation in August last year.

Informing further, the DFO said that 2-3 hours of trekking is required to reach a poppy held and its destruction takes 5-6 hours.

So far poppy cultivated on around 720 acres of land at 20 different sites in the district has been destroyed.

He tjien appealed to the departments to send their,people to help in the drive.

In this connection, DC Zuringla instructed the department heads to forward a list of the names of their staff along with contact numbers to the DC Office so that they can voluntarily help in the drive.

The DC also discussed various agendas/projects, including one district one product, dark/area village identification for 4G saturation project, e-office, MoUs for economic local product, Amrit Sarovar Mission/MGNREGS, PMAY Gramin (Rural), Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Ki-san card, Social Welfare (One Stop Centre, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Unique Disability Identity for Persons with Disabilities, construction of Anganwadi Centres, Anganwadi Services, CAF & PD (ePOS), Health (Jan Aushadi, Pharmacies), Nal Se Jal Yojana, Power Distribution Asset, government e-marketplace, Revenue Village Foundation Day and Forest Land Degradation, among others.

Regarding the One Stop Centre, the officer informed that 18 cases were received out of which 17 cases have been solved and one is still pending as the case was registered last Sunday, adding that that field visits, like visiting the homes of victims and enquiring on their health, are being carried out.

Meanwhile, the health official informed that under Jan Aushadi scheme, medicines are made available at affordable prices at the District Hospital Kangpokpi and the Community Health Centre (CHC), Saikul to the inpatients and outpatients.

On the other hand, the district social welfare officer informed that 355 numbers of applications were received for UDID, out of which 166 certificates were generated and another 189 are pending due to technical issues.
