RKM, PIMMSAA reach out to displaced families

Imphal, November 29 2023:
Ramakrishna Mission (RKM), Babupara, Imphal has distributed 1020 winter blankets to 655 displaced families sheltered in 10 relief camps across the state on November 24,26 and 27 .
An RKM statement informed that the blankets were distributed to displaced families living in the relief camps set up at Leimaram SC Girls' Hostel, Moirang Khunou Mamang Sabal Mandop, Moirang College Block-A & Block-B, Ibudhou Thangjing Guest House and Oinam Government Higher Secondary School, in Bishnupur district and Thambal Leima High School, Iram Siphai, Pemton Kamakhya College, Hiyangthang and Mekola Gulap HS School in Imphal West district.
All the expectant mothers staying in these relief camps were also provided two packs each of Mother's Plus Horlicks and food supplement/infant milk for infants and stationery items to the students, the statement conveyed.
In addition, plastic mats and storage boxes were provided to 45 families taking shelter at the Moirang Khunou Mamang Sabal Mandop relief camp, it added.
Meanwhile, Pan India Manipuri Meitei Scientists and Academicians' Association (PIMMSAA) provided several materials to aid displaced people living in relief camps.
In a release, PIMMSAA informed that they have been providing essential materials to the people displaced by the ongoing conflict and presently taking shelter in the relief camps.
PIMMSAA and Kaito's group together distributed several items including looms, accessories, yarns, ply wood yarns, sewing machines; stationery items, foods and logistics expenses among others to inmates of several relief camps, it added.
Meanwhile, Students of Tejpur University, Assam utilised proceeds from selling edible items at the university to purchase edibles and essential items for relief camps set up at Santhong in Moirang and Thanga Wangma High School, Thanga Moirangthem for the first phase.
