Children's horror tales in relief camps haunt moms

Mothers in relief camps are enduring unimaginable pain as they reluctantly hear their young children converse about horrors of the com-munal violence that ravaged their homes.

These innocent souls have been deeply af-fected by the brutality of war-Yet, in the aftermath of the violence, several people are left without the comfort of their homes.
The educational system has crumbled, leav-ing young children bereft of formal classroom education.
Though some organisations provide books and notebooks to these children, their minds are consumed by the haunt-ing experiences they have endured, rendering learning unappealing.
Similar concerns weigh heavy on the hearts of oth-er mothers within the relief camps.
They earnestly ap-pealed to the government for a swift resolution of the crisis, urging assistance in reset-tlement, rehabilitation, and deployment of security per-sonnel in adequate numbers to ensure a safe environment for their families as well as livelihood assistance.
The relief camp set up by a committed led by W Biren-kumar, has become a haven for those whose homes have been reduced to ashes.
Cur-rently providing shelter to 168 displaced individuals, in-cluding 130 from Gwaltabi, eight from Yaingangpokpi, three from Leimakhong, 11 from Chingnungkok, three from Oksu, one from Wakha, 1 from Moirangpurel and one elder from Wangoo, strives to fulfil basic needs and fa-cilities.
Moreover, they are focusing on instilling social and patriotic values among the camp's inhabitants, offering a glimmer of hope amid the despair.
Highlighting the plight of these mothers and children, whose lives have been shat-tered by violence, the relief camp committee called for swift action, urging the gov-ernment to bring peace, facil-itate resettlement, and ensure the safety and well-being of these families.
