Imphal, June 03 2023:
Three days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah left Manipur following his 'wait for 15 days' assurance to the CSOs of Churachandpur, the 10 Naga MLAs of Manipur Legislative Assembly have been summoned to New Delhi to meet the Home Minister on June 6 .
Significantly the summon to the 10 Naga MLAs has come even as the separate administration call raised by the Kuki-Chin MLAs hangs heavy in the air and the Union Home Minister had assured to respect and protect the integrity/sanctity of Manipur.
Speaking to The Sangai Express one of the Naga MLAs confirmed that they have been asked to come to Delhi to meet the Union Home Minister on June 6 .
The 10 Naga MLAs are Losii Dikho (Mao AC), N Kayisii (Tadubi AC), Awangbow Newmai (Tamei AC), Dinganglung Gangmei (Nungba AC), Ram Muivah (Ukhrul AC), Leishiyo Keishing (Phungyar AC), Khashim Vashum (Chingai AC), SS Olish (Chandel AC), J Kumo Sha (Karong AC) and Janhemlung Panmei (Tamenglong AC) .
While some of the Naga MLAs have left for New Delhi today, some will leave Imphal tomorrow, added a source.
While it is not yet clear, why the MLAs have been called to New Delhi, a well placed source said that the demand for a separate administration raised by the Kuki-Chin MLAs could be the primary reason.
The source said that the call for a separate administration will not be acceptable to the Nagas if Kangpokpi comes under it and added that at least three of the Kuki-Chin MLAs come from Kangpokpi district which include Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency, Saikul AC and Saitu AC.
Even Tengnoupal is home to the Nagas, added the source.
