Kambiron village customary court (Thoubei) has pronounced CRPF jawan Thiyam Ashok Singh guilty of a planting a bomb in the village on Saturday and ordered him to bring a 'buffalo with armlength horn' to the court by September 28 as per customary law.
As per a release jointly signed by Kambiron village customary court (Thoubei) members Thaitangpou, Khangang & Lankulung; Village Authority chairman & its secretary Kojeidingpa Dangmei; 87 Bn CRPF AC RK Tungnung and accused Ashok Singh, the accused was brought to the customary court after he was caught by the villagers on suspicion of planting a bomb on Saturday, and he pleaded guilty of the act.
The release also mentioned that the court has issued an order to 87 Bn CRPF making it clear that if this kind of criminal act is repeated, then the battalion should vacate the village.
Meanwhile, Nungba Area Village Authority Association (NAVAA), RNCM Luangba Luangrian, RNLPM Luangba Luangrian, RNSOM Luangba Luangrian and NAJAC have strongly condemned the alleged planting of the bomb by Th Ashok Singh of 87 Bn CRPF at the behest of 39 Assam Rifles Nungba Outpost at Kambiron village, a revered historical village associated to freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang.
In a joint release, NAVAA chairman Gaiphun Kamei, chairman Gaibilung Gangmei, RNLPM (LL) president Delilah Kamei, RNCM (LL) Jasper Kamei and RNSOM (LL) said that this is the fourth consecutive incident of planting a bomb in Nungba area in the last four years without any known reason and all stage-managed, devised and engineered by Assam Rifles.
The organisations are deeply concerned with the activities and attitude of Government of India and its security forces against and upon the Nagas.
The planting of live fatal bombs by the Indian security forces who are supposedly to ensure security of the people at the exact village of the freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang is an utter surprise, but not unexpected and not a new subject, it alleged.
The release stressed that planting bomb in a peace zone, trying to create fear, tension and mistrust, only to get 'good boy' comment from their higher officer is an absolute act of cowardice and foolishness which have no space in an advanced society.
Such continuous involvement of Indian security forces in the act of terrorism against the innocent public is a serious and heinous crime.
Those CRPF personnel and Assam Rifles involved should be booked, punished by the court of law or the people of Nungba area will start a wave of democratic agitation, it said, while adding that organisations anticipate that with this incident, the Government of India and security forces will stop such barbarism and focus more on the bright side of the people.
The organisations further appealed to all likeminded CSOs and people to come forward in condemning such inhuman incident.
